HEY BACKERS!

Been awhile! At this point, everyone should have completely received their Kracklestone rewards... with one tiny exception (see below). I've heard wonderful things from all of you and it's been a true pleasure seeing our many backers showing off their copies and extras. Your comments have been heart-warming and tremendously encouraging. As I always say, it's the backers who really make this all possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Okay, enough mushy stuff...

Time to talk Project B!

The only remaining reward is the digital wallpaper pack. Forgot about that one, eh?! I've held it back because it'll contain a little surprise related to the next Dreamprism book. Look out for the wallpaper pack soon.

So what's the next project??? Get ready for an epic SIX-BOOK fantasy adventure forged over many years! That's right, Dreamers... it's time for DREAMSIDE BOOK ONE! Click that link to learn more about Sarah's incredible journey.

Why use one color when you can use ALL OF THEM?!

My plan is to launch a new campaign next month, which is coming up pretty quickly. More details to follow but I'm really counting on you to support this new project. It's very hard to make a new series work and it'll need all the help it can get! It's gonna be amazing and you'll definitely want to get in on the first printing of this beautiful book series.

I'll send out another update soon with dates and more info.

Meanwhile, if anyone has yet to receive their Kracklestone goodies, please send me a PM!

Until next time!

International Shipping Update IV: A New Hope
11 months ago – Fri, May 29, 2020 at 02:49:17 PM

Hey Backers!

If you guessed this update is only for international backers, you'd be correct!

As predicted, the TSA has completely dropped the ball and is refusing to communicate with us. SO, as promised earlier this week, we're completely changing our shipping method so we can get your rewards out to you!

By the time you receive this update, some of you will already be getting your tracking emails! Exciting, huh?!

Here's how it's gonna work:

  • For everyone outside of the UK, your package will ship either via UPS international or USPS first class, with a strong preference for UPS. Unfortunately, some orders through UPS will be extremely expensive (well into the hundreds of dollars) and we simply can't afford that. Also, UPS cannot deliver to PO Boxes, which some of you listed as your address. In that case, we'll default to USPS which maxes out at around $35. Unfortunately (for me), together with the packing and fulfillment costs, that runs about $40 per package, quite a bit more than we collected for even the most distant backers. Live and learn! Fortunately, many should be less expensive than that. Let's hope there isn't too much damage!
  • For backers in the UK, your packages are being air freighted to England and will be sent through your Royal Mail as domestic shipments. Air freight is far more expensive than by boat, but it will literally take a whole month less to ship via air.

This virus has severely impacted international shipping. It's really the main reason for all this trouble to begin with. We're seeing some very slow delivery times. Someone the other day mentioned he's been waiting over six weeks for a different delivery from the US. Let's hope things move more quickly for us!

I ask you to please be patient and avoid worrying if your package takes a long time to arrive. This is the last step! Your tracking email will give you a number you can check periodically, so as long as it states that the package is still on its way, please have faith it will reach you.

Thanks again for everything! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel... can you? ;)

International Shipping Episode III: The Revenge of the Ship
11 months ago – Tue, May 26, 2020 at 01:09:44 PM

Quick update for international backers...

...TSA hasn't provided our release authorization yet. So I made an EXECUTIVE DECISION. I'm giving them until Friday morning to allow the packages to ship using our existing bulk international plan. If we don't hear from them by then, I'm going to do the following:

  • For UK orders, I'll air freight your packages to a fulfillment warehouse in England. From there, they'll be labeled and sent out via domestic Royal Mail. Air freight is, obviously, much faster than sea freight--about 8 days from US to UK. Then, domestic shipping should only be another few days.
  • For every other country, your order will be upgraded to another shipping method, most likely UPS Standard International. There are some orders that UPS will really gouge us on, so those may go out via USPS international instead, which costs about $35 max for any given order.

I'll get your orders to you if I have to bring them myself! I just need to find my old magic carpet...

SECOND Update for International Backers
11 months ago – Sun, May 24, 2020 at 04:01:24 PM

Hello again, Backers!

Once again, I'm addressing only the international backers receiving rewards outside the United States. I'm sure you're wondering why you haven't yet received your shipment notifications! I received an answer straight from UPS...

The virus situation is causing all sort of worldwide shipping problems! For a reason not yet clear to me, UPS is sending many bulk international shipments via commercial airlines. For a package to get on a commercial jet, it must first be cleared by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Apparently the agency is dragging their feet a bit on getting us approval.

While we wait for the TSA to get our clearance numbers allowing packages to go out, I'm looking into two other shipping options juuuuust in case we can't get a timely response:

  • Upgrade to more costly UPS international standard, or...
  • Freight all packages to England to ship from there via Royal Mail.

I'm researching both options and will follow up with you asap. Since it's Friday (and Monday is a holiday here in the States), I won't have a definite answer until early next week. The good news there is that it'll give the TSA a bit more time to get us approval. If that happens, your packages will go out straight away.

Trust me when I say that we're doing everything we can to get your rewards to you!

I'll be in touch soon!
